This full-day tour traces the path of the U.S. forces from the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc to the shores of Utah Beach, with a stop in Sainte-Mère-Église, the first French town liberated by the Allies and forever linked to the story of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions.

No crowded coaches, no rushed stops. Just your family or group, time to reflect at the Normandy American Cemetery and at each site along the way. For many American travelers, it is a profound and unforgettable day, ideal for history enthusiasts, veterans’ families and anyone wishing to honor the courage of the soldiers who landed on these shores.

Itinerary

1 – Sainte-Mère-Église
›

In the early hours of June 6, 1944, hundreds of American paratroopers from the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions dropped into the fields and streets of Sainte-Mère-Église, hours before the first landing craft reached the beaches. It became the first French town liberated by the Allies. Today, a parachute still hangs from the church tower in tribute to Private John Steele, whose harrowing ordeal here was immortalized in “The Longest Day.”

2 – Utah Beach
›

The westernmost of the five D-Day landing beaches, Utah Beach was where the American 4th Infantry Division came ashore on the morning of June 6, 1944, securing a vital foothold with comparatively fewer casualties than at Omaha. Its wide, quiet sands and the nearby Utah Beach Landing Museum tell the story of the amphibious assault that opened the route toward Cherbourg and the liberation of France.

3 – Pointe du Hoc
›

Perched on dramatic cliffs overlooking the English Channel, Pointe du Hoc is one of the most striking D-Day sites in Normandy. On June 6, 1944, U.S. Army Rangers scaled these 30-meter cliffs under heavy enemy fire to destroy a key German artillery battery. The bomb craters and bunkers remain untouched to this day — a raw and powerful testament to the courage of those men.

4 – Omaha Beach
›

A key D-Day landing site and the most iconic of the Normandy beaches, Omaha stretches 8 kilometers along the Channel coast. On June 6, 1944, American soldiers faced some of the fiercest resistance of the entire invasion here. Walking this beach today — now peaceful and open — is a deeply moving experience, symbolizing the sacrifice, courage, and ultimate cost of freedom.

5 – Normandy American Cemetery
›

An emotional tribute to the American servicemen who gave their lives during the Battle of Normandy, this cemetery overlooks Omaha Beach in a setting of quiet dignity. Over 9,000 white crosses and Stars of David stretch across immaculate grounds, each one a reminder of the price paid for liberty. Few places in the world leave a more lasting impression on visitors.

6 – Arromanches
›

Arromanches is home to one of the most remarkable engineering achievements of the Second World War — the Mulberry artificial harbor, built by the Allies within days of D-Day to land troops and supplies directly onto the Normandy beaches. The remains of this colossal structure are still visible in the sea today, offering a fascinating glimpse into the logistical genius that made the liberation of Europe possible.

Words cannot express how happy we are with Normandy Day Tours. Our driver, Mathew Was beyond exceptional. My family was on a day excursion from a cruise and wanted to visit both Omaha and Utah Beach as well as Mont Michel. Our cruise line was unable to provide the tour because the directions of the locations are for too far apart. Not Only did our driver get us to all of our locations He also came with us and showed us around in Mount Michel. Without his direction and translation, I don't think my family would have to see all this in such a short period of time. I cannot recommend this driver and company enough! Thank you!!!
